What the Trainers Have to Say...
Tim Shea, trainer and breeder:
Shocwave personifies what an Arabian performance horse should be. He is so charismatic and exuberant about what he does. Shockwave is unmistakably Arabian with the shape and curve of neck, extreme tail carriage and his presence. Shocwave is no accident, his dam Spectra PR and granddam Sedgia were outstanding English horses.
Joel M. Gangi, trainer and national judge:
Specks Shockwave… Type, beauty, confirmation, pedigree and motion! Shocwave is one of the premier stallions in our industry. Specs Shocwave ha everything it takes to be one of the most significant sires in the Arabian industry! Simply an incredibly beautiful individual!
Chris Wilson:
The first time I saw Shoc I was in the ring showing against him. He was awesome! I knew he was going to win that class-the Junior Horse National Championship. Shoc carries himself in such a balanced manner. He has tremendous impulsion from behind and a great range of motion up front with beautiful expression. I believe he will be one of the great sires. He has a very strong pedigree- on line to Huck through the remarkable Afire Bey V and three lines to *Bask++ through one of the greatest English Show Mares, Spectra PR
Ray LaCroix:
Every once in a while (and all too infrequently) a show horse will enter the Arabian show horse scene and re-define the division that is showing in. Shocwave is one of those horses. The balance, quality of motion, and expression that he displayed during his section cut at the 2006 U.S. Nationals was one of the more memorable performances in recent years. Add to this flawless performance, Shocwave’s over-all-beauty and Arabian type and you have a visual standard by which future English pleasure classes can be judged.
Gene LaCroix:
Shocwave will be more than a phenomenal English horse. His dam Spectra PR was an extremely talented English mare, sired by Promotion. Spectra’s dam Sedgia was very talented as well, and she was sired by Cognac. Shocwave’s first and second dams were each a granddaughter of *Bask++ exemplifying the best of Lasma breeding, to which I am admittedly partial. Then of course, he’s sired by Afire Bey V, also out of a *Bask++ daughter. Shocwave has risen the bar in English Pleasure. Overall, he is by far the best English horse the breed has seen in years, possibly the best ever. I also think he’ll be a predominant Sire in those special traits he himself demonstrates and if I’m correct he’ll be an extremely influential breeding Stallion and will send and exciting “Shockwave” through the Arabian Industry. He could very well be the next GREAT ONE.
Gary Dearth:
At the 2004 U.S. National I was showing in the Arabian Junior English class. As I lined up, the crown was going crazy for one horse. When I looked up I saw Shocwave for the first time and could understand the crowd’s reaction. In an instant, I was transformed from participant to admiring spectator. From that moment, I have been a huge Shocwave fan. Shocwave’s dam, Spectra PR was one of the great English pleasure mares of all time. Her mother was an outstanding park horses. “Shoc” come by his ability naturally. I am certain that as a breeding horse “Shoc” come by his ability naturally. I am certain that as a breeding horse “Shoc” will elevate the standard of the Arabian breed.
